I got with meGUI encoded video files with AC3 audio all compatible with AppleTV 3 (I don´t put AAC in the final M4V - Files, but I just use the encoded material with AppleTV or XBMC on Amazon FireTV or a Computer als HTPC). I even changed the Audio decoder for reading the file to FFAudioSource. So I changed my encoder in meGUI from Aften to FFMPEG. Then I checked what encoder is used in iFlicks and I found out: it uses FFMPEG for video and audio.
) then before when I encoded the audio-files with meGUI and Aften Encoder. And the audio-quality was better (not better. First I thought my connection from the AppleTV to the sound system were faulty or something other, but then I tried to mux the encoded video file with DTS - sound, then put the file through a Mac-programm named iFlicks and this program encoded the sound again to AC3 and AAC. but when I played the audio with the AppleTV, the audio had some crackling in it. My problem was: When I tried to encode any DTS to AC3 with the Aften Encoder, the audio quality was fine playing at the computer with VLC. Now I need to re-encode all my media files again (and will also improve visual quality). Then I changed my media-playback-settings and attached a 5.1 surround-system to my AppleTV. The 5.1 is part of the CORE, and that spec has been understood for quite some In the past, I used meGUI also for encoding my videos for the AppleTV Gen 3. By being unparseable, it's just extra junk baggage the parser is throwing away. If it were readable, it could have been used directly and not just downmixed. AFAIK, that part is an EXTENSION and as such is currently not readable/parseable to the (exisiting freeware) apps. I'm thinking it was pressure from the big unless I'm very mistaken, it is just removing the extra. Time will tell whether this was a wise business decision or the product of clueless upper management who misread the marketplace. This gigantic product kill off happened a few months ago. Basically all they seem to make and sell now are photography type programs or apps.
They also killed Total Media Theater, which is a real shame as it was by far and away the best consumer software BluRay player available. Total Media Center is one that they killed.
Arcsoft has killed off a lot of their products.
I couldn't even find the trial for it, I guess its no longer in existence. I spent forever trying to find this out and have read in alot of places that you need arcsoft total media center or something like that. AAC but it never works, thats why I extract it as. AC3 and not give me that error and crackling audio output? DTS files to work with eac3to in MeGui when I try to extract. AC3 file with MeGui but I cant encode the. AC3 audio I extracted has ALOT of crackling in it and it sounds horrible. I just tried to do that method which has worked for me well so far and the. I never had any problem until now though.
The libav DTS decoder doesnt decode the full DTS-HD information The Arcsoft and Sonic decoders don't seem to work, will use libav instead. I notice this in the log though, its keeps saying this AC3 file it made using eac3to in MeGui and that usually works fine when I try to re-encode that. If I use HD Streams extractor and tell it to extract the.
DTS audio from my Blu-Rays with MeGui, it never works.
